Aunt Fannie News & Media Coverage

At Aunt Fannie’s, we’re constantly on the hunt for ways to reduce our exposure to harmful chemicals. Whether it’s the food we eat, the cleaning products we spray, or the personal hygiene products we apply, we try to be mindful of exactly what we’re putting in and on our bodies. While that can seem like a daunting task, it doesn’t have to be if you make small, incremental changes over time.

If you caught our last article about common toxic ingredients, you already know that there are very few FDA regulations in place to protect consumers. There are some helpful resources our there that can help you determine how your current personal hygiene products stack up, including Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Database (On a scale of 1 to 10, they rate the level of toxicity of each product with 1 being the safest.)

But if you’re ready to ditch your store-bought products altogether, the world wide web provides endless resources for DIY recipes that will keep your routine green from head to toe. We’ve selected 3 of our favorite recipes that are simple, easy and can be made in bulk. Best of all, these recipes require less than 5 ingredients, most of which you can find in your kitchen and take less than 5 minutes to whip up!
